No, not this:
…cooking shrimp, ok? Well, I am sure that you knew that.
I may or may not have googled the words “shrimp puns.” Its been a weird morning.
Any way, yesterday I was complaining about not wanting to go the gym. Well, I went and boy did I feel better about it once it was over. I was just imagining going to my same old gym, getting on the same old machine, seeing the same old people…. blah. So, I got the genius idea to go to a different gym. A new setting, new faces, new machines, were just what I needed to gain some motivation. Today? Not so much.
Its raining. Well, its about to rain. And I want to go to IKEA and H&M. I do have on my workout clothes in case the mood strikes, but I am sure that I will end up just wearing them all day (hey, they are comfy!) and putting them back on again tomorrow.
Back to the shrimp. I have a ton of shrimp. Its frozen from this past fall and seeing it in the freezer yesterday reminded me that I have a ton of free meals just sitting there waiting to be cooked. So today, because its
about to rain raining, I am going to cook me up some shrimp.
Of course, I hit up Pinterest in search of some shrimpspiration and found oodles of ideas.
Who doesn’t love shrimp dip. It reminds me of living in Charleston and going to lunch with my roommate on the weekends.
Clearly I like shrimp dip. A spicy version? Now, that’s something that I could get behind.
Who wants to come over for dinner this weekend? I will definitely be making these as a little appetizer.
Doesn’t this look like the perfect little lunch?
I’ll tell you, Martha Stewart knows her stuff. I love how the Romaine is left whole and not chopped up like most salads. I could see myself using the lettuce as a shrimp scoop.
Hello? Weekend? Is that you? I think I hear the weekend calling. Oh, its only Thursday? Oh well. I can see my self sitting alfresco with a little white wine nibbling on this.
I love love love satays. I am not sure that I have ever had a shrimp satay come to think of it. I most of my experience is in chicken, but shrimp sounds awesome too. That peanut sauce? Yum.
Like I said before, that Martha Stewart knows her stuff. I have been practically dying to make kebabs all summer.
Hello appetizers. Anyone? Dinner? This recipe makes me think of one of my favorite restaurants, Season’s 52. They have amazing flatbread.
Yes. I said it. Shrimp. Pizza. With an abundance of fresh basil in my garden, I could whip this baby out almost for free!
If you read Blackbird Ideas often, you know how much I love arugula on pizza.
With all of these great recipes, how will I ever decide?!?! Want to help make the decision easier? Just for fun (because it feels like the weekend already doesn’t it?), vote for your favorite.
Well, I am off to IKEA and… maybe the gym (in the rain).
New to Blackbird Ideas? This is what I was up to…
